Twelve Senior School students from both campuses returned home on Monday from their 16-day Ibaraki Exchange Program.

It was another amazing trip where the students embraced life in Japan with their host families, practiced their Japanese language skills, participated in classes, learned new skills in flower arranging and cooking, went hiking and explored various fascinating places.

They visited the famous Toshogu Shrine and learned about the three monkeys story at Nikko and travelled to Hiroshima where they visited the famous Peace Park and Peace Memorial Museum.

They later went to Miyajima to see the Torii Gate in the sea, to Nara to see Daibutsu – the Great Buddha of Nara, the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto, the bamboo forest and gardens at Kiyomizudera, and several spots in Tokyo, including Harajuku, Shibuya Crossing, Shinjuku, and Ikebukuro.

The chance to experience Japanese family and school life is an unforgettable opportunity for Beaconhills students. It has been described as one of the most incredible trips one could have in their life.
