Little Beacons exceeds national standards

Little Beacons Pakenham Campus has been rated as Exceeding National Quality Standard under the National Quality Framework.

It’s the third time the centre has earned the Exceeding rating. Little Beacons at Berwick, which opened in 2020, also has the same rating. The National Quality Standard (NQS) sets a national benchmark for the quality of children’s education and care services across Australia.

The Exceeding rating is given to services that go above and beyond the requirements of the NQS in at least four of the seven quality areas. The centre achieved Exceeding in all seven quality areas.

Head of Little Beacons, Vicki Reid, said she was thrilled with the rating, describing it as a “significant achievement”.

“Achieving Exceeding each time we have gone through Assessment and Rating over our 15 years is a credit to many years of hard work and dedication. It is very unique to continue to achieve this,” she said. “Having staff committed to delivering high quality education every day is also unique.”

Assessors noted that Little Beacons had prioritised embedding their understanding of, and promoting respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and perspectives and had formed “long-standing and meaningful connections” with members of the Aboriginal community.
